UMOJA Works is a national nonprofit mental and physical health advocate for school-aged children and underserved communities.

Art for Health© is an arts curriculum that incorporates behavior change theory and healthy lifestyles with arts training sessions, hands-on practical experience, visiting professors, and production. The curriculum is designed to promote mental and physical health through arts training and arts appreciation.

The community outreach objective is to form alliances with community-based organizations, including religious groups and schools, whose activities are aligned with the mission and goals of UMOJA Works.
The program objective is to polish participants’ artistic talent while increasing their appreciation of the arts by encouraging self-efficacy for healthy behaviors that promote mental and physical health.

The vision of UMOJA Works is to spread messages of mental and physical health, especially HIV and AIDS, to school-aged children and underserved communities.

Art for Health© is an accelerated program that exposes participants to artistic disciplines in two to three-hour weekly sessions, one discipline at a time. The program culminates in a demonstration of artistic skill and internalization of health-related self-efficacy through artistic interpretation. Regular price, $34.95
